Dog Walking Agreement

This contract (the "Agreement") is entered into between Canine Jaunts (hereinafter referred to as the "Dog Walker" or "Dog Walking Company") and the name(s) entered below (hereinafter referred to as the "Dog Owner," "You," or "Your") from the date(s) entered below or ongoing if specified.

DOG WALKING SERVICES

The Dog Walker agrees to provide the dog walking services (hereinafter referred to as the "Services") as stated on the client intake form in a professional, diligent, and responsible way. The Dog Walker will maintain open and clear communication with the Client regarding the well-being of the dog and any issues that may arise during walks. The Dog Walker agrees to walk a maximum of two (2) dogs simultaneously. This specified number ensures that each dog receives adequate attention and supervision during the walk. The Dog Walker agrees to walk the agreed upon time and days set by the Dog Owner, and will always have a +/- 15 minute time allowance before & after the agreed upon time due to traffic, weather or unforeseeable causes.

LEASH POLICY

The Dog Walker agrees to walk dogs on a leash ONLY. The Dog Walker may use a waist leash for added security, a gentle leader, or a body harness as needed. The Dog Walker Agrees to NEVER unleash dogs or visit dog parks where dogs are unleashed and not in full control. If a collar is used instead of a harness, The Dog Owner must ensure it is secure and in good condition. The Dog Walker will NOT be responsible for collars that break or come unclipped.

DOG OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES

The Dog Owner must provide information that is accurate to the best of their knowledge about their dog. If the dog has any known behavioural issues or aggression triggers, the Dog Owner must disclose these details to the Dog Walker. The Dog Walker has the right to refuse to provide the Services if the dog displays aggressive and dangerous behaviour. The Dog Owner should ensure that access to the dog is provided at the scheduled times for the Dog Walker. The Dog Owner will ensure that all necessary equipment (e.g., harness, collar, ID tag) is provided. If necessary, the Dog Owner agrees to provide house keys or house access code to the Dog Walker for the pick-up and drop-off of their dog with a signed separate key release form.

PAYMENT AND FEES

The Dog Owner agrees to pay the Dog Walker upon receipt of the invoice. Invoices are issued weekly on Friday's at 8:00am covering services provided one (1) week before (Saturday-Friday).
The Dog Owner agrees to pay the Dog Walker via E-Transfer to caninejauntss@gmail.com or 5192754594. If the payment is not made upon receipt, a late payment fee of $10.00 may be charged on the next invoice. In the event of non-payment, the Dog Walker reserves the right to withhold or terminate the Services. The Dog Owner is responsible for any additional costs incurred while the Services are provided, including but not limited to veterinary expenses, transportation, special food or supplies, or other unforeseen expenses required for the well-being of the dog.

CANCELLATION AND TERMINATION

To cancel or alter services without incurring a cancellation fee, the Dog Owner is required to provide notice via text message, e-mail, or phone call before 8:00am on the scheduled day of the walk to avoid charges. If a cancellation is made after this period, a full cancellation fee may be imposed on your next bill. The Dog Walker reserves the right to cancel or terminate services at any time due to reasons that may include but are not limited to aggressive pet behaviour or non-payment. Should the Dog Walker cancel the Services, the Dog Owner will be notified promptly. In case of termination, the Dog Walker will ensure the secure return of any house access items (e.g., keys and access codes.

EMERGENCIES

The Dog Walker agrees to promptly report any incidents, accidents, injuries, or unusual behaviours observed during walks. In the event of a pet medical emergency or illness during the service period, the Dog Walker will make every reasonable effort to contact the Dog Owner or their emergency contact provided on the Pet Information Form immediately. If the Dog Owner or their emergency contact cannot be reached in time, the Dog Owner authorizes the Dog Walker to seek emergency veterinary care for their dog if necessary for the dog's health, safety, and well-being. The Dog Owner agrees to reimburse the Dog Walker for any reasonable and documented expenses incurred for emergency veterinary services.

CONFIDENTIALITY

The Dog Walker should keep all of the Dog Owner's information (e.g., contact information, home access codes, security measures, etc strictly confidential and agrees not to disclose it to any third parties without the Dog Owner's explicit written consent.

LIABILITY

The Dog Owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Dog Walker from any claims, liabilities, damages, expenses (including legal fees), or harm to the dog arising from the Services, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by the Dog Walker.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This contract constitutes the entire agreement between the Dog Owner and the Dog Walker regarding the Services and supersedes all prior discussions, understandings, representations, and agreements, both written and verbal.

FORCE MAJEURE

Neither party shall be held accountable for unforeseeable circumstances or events beyond their control, including acts of nature, government actions, war, epidemics, or other events hindering the contract's performance. The affected party must promptly notify the other party and make reasonable efforts to mitigate the event's effects.

SEVERABILITY

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable under applicable law, the invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability of such provision shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions of this Agreement. No modification, amendment, or alteration of this Agreement shall be binding unless it is made in writing and duly executed by both parties. By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions stated in this Agreement.

The key will be securely held and will only be used for entering and exiting the property during the contracted service times. I understand that all precautions will be taken to ensure the security and confidentiality of my keys. I release Rachel Smitjes from Canine Jaunts from all liability that may result from the handling or use of my key, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Photo/Video Release Form (Dog)

I, the pet owner, hereby grant and authorize Rachel Smitjes from Canine Jaunts to use photographs and video recordings taken of my pet(s) during the Services for promotional, marketing, and advertising purposes. These uses may include, but are not limited to, social media stories, social media posts, newsletters, flyers, brochures, promotional videos, and other digital or print communications.

I acknowledge that I will not receive any form of compensation or royalties for the use of these photographs and video recordings in promotional materials.

I understand that while these photographs and video recordings may be used for promotional purposes, my personal information (such as my full name, contact information, and address) will not be disclosed or shared.

I acknowledge that granting this consent is voluntary, and I have not been coerced or pressured into providing permission for the use of my pet(s)' photographs and video recordings.

During my absence, Rachel Smitjes from Canine Jaunts will be caring for my pet(s). In an event of an emergency, I authorize Rachel to seek medical attention and treatment from my above listed Veterinarian.

I understand I will be responsible for remitting any payments and fees to Rachel from Canine Jaunts upon my return if any arise from the medical treatment administered by the Veterinarian.

By signing below, I give Rachel Smitjes from Canine Jaunts permission to transport my pet(s) to the above Veterinarian and authorize treatment in the event of an emergency or sickness. If this Veterinarian is not available, I authorize Rachel Smitjes from Canine Jaunts to transport my pet(s) to a Veterinarian of her choice and authorize treatment. If emergency care is required after regular office hours, my pet(s) may be taken to the nearest Veterinarian Emergency Clinic/Hospital.

I agree that Rachel Smitjes from Canine Jaunts is released from all liability related to transportation to and from Veterinarian and treatment for sickness or emergency. This release will remain valid for all current and future visits unless a new release is signed.
